A new, locally owned Pioneer business, Hometown Meat Market, moved closer to reality as county commissioners formally approved $64,000 for the business from the county’s Revolving Loan Fund.
The RLF money is part of a package of nearly $300,000 that includes private lender money and private equity, according to a Business Investment and Job Commitment Form for the Ohio Development Services Agency signed by Colt Fackler, of Pioneer.
The project is anticipated to employ three workers within 24 months after project completion, including two who meet the state’s Low and Moderate Income (LMI) guidelines.
The site is the former location of Dr. David Brown, DMD, who recently retired.
The RFL is part of the county’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding program, administered by the Maumee Valley Planning Organization. The commissioners resolution recommends an interest rate of 3.5% payable over a seven-year term.
Fackler has said RLF approval was key to moving forward and anticipates construction starting Sept. 1, with a tentative opening date of March 31, 2023. In other recent action, commissioners:
• Approved the purchase from Bryan Ford of a 2022 Ford F250 at a cost not to exceed $35,742, for the county engineer department;
• Approved appointees of the Ohio Public Works Commission, Williams County Sub-Committee, Round 37 Roster. They are Todd J. Roth, Chairman of County Sub-Committee; Lewis Hilkert, county representative, Brian Wieland, Bryan representative; Rusty Goebel, township representative; Edward A. Kidston, village representative; Tony Hoeffel, at-large voting representative.
